LA Mayor Karen Bass speaks June 25, 2024 denying housing services

Los Angeles, California. This is an unofficial transcript redacted from a court hearing June 25, 2024, Los Angeles Superior Court case 23STCP00644, Geary J. Johnson versus city of Los Angeles and Housing Department and Real Party in Interest Hi Point 1522 LLC.

I will be posting excerpts and corrections from the transcript as time permits.
Mayor Karen Bass speaks thru her attorney, the city attorney’s office under Hydee Feldstein-Soto. This case involved a complaint to the housing department to enforce the harassment ordinance as well as provide a housing service of a rent reduction due to a reduction in maintenance to the Intercom system, and the tandem parking. The court ultimately ruled against me and refused to order the city and Mayor Karen Bass to supply the requested housing services rent reductions. In effect, the court appeared to be saying that the Black disabled tenant myself and roommate are not entitled to housing services to be supplied by the city government.

The court decision, as well as this transcript, is a roadmap to any landlord who wishes to know how to discriminate and deny housing services to tenants. This decision and transcript are also a roadmap to tenants to understand how to go about fighting the odds against a landlord who refuses to provide housing services.
